    Till now, JAGARAN has provided various types of aids to nearly 300 needy and meritorious students.There is no hard and first rule in JAGARAN, no boundary of its activities. So, even though at the beginning, it was primarily focused on supporting our beneficiaries financially, now with more involvement and more suggestions from Members (JAGARANITES), JAGARAN stands for Total Improvement. So, Environmental-Awareness, Self-Awareness like Switching Off the street-lights in day-time, Closing the road-side taps when water is not being used, Giving seats to Elder-persons in buses etc – All things are also included in JAGARAN activities! It is needless to say that ‘INVOLVEMENT’ is the key word. With around 350 contributors and 300 beneficiaries, i.e. with around 350+300=650 Members (according to the finance tracker), the mental involvement should have been already around 2000 people (assuming 3-4 members in every member’s family).

    Contai (East Midnapore, West Bengal):
    JAGARAN is having its Strongest base at Contai. Nearly 80 students in different classes are getting support from JAGARAN at Contai. With nearly 80 Local Members comprising of Teachers, Doctors, Lecturers, Businessmen etc, Monthly Get-togethers are held at Contai regularly on every 3rd Sunday in a month. With this strong structure of Contai Team (Responsible Members-> Sharmistha Bera, Pradipta Panchadhyayee, Pramathes Mandal, Soma Madam), JAGARAN has successfully arranged 'Midnapore Flood Relief Program' in Jul&Aug'08.
    Bhubaneshwar, Orissa:
    In Apr'07, the Bhubaneswar Team of JAGARAN (Responsible Members-> Biswajit Ghosh, Sonali Das, Debasree Das, Debsankar Pramanik) selected 30 students of Pathani Samanta School, a private school at Bhubaneshwar. JAGARAN is providing all the study expenses for those Students.
    Salboni (West Midnapore, West Bengal):
    JAGARAN is having around 12 beneficiaries from different classes at Salboni. A Team (comprising of Arkajit, Atanu, Abhishek, Arnab, Soumyajit, Soumen, Satyajit & Satadru) visited the place on 31st May'09. The Students are getting true oppotunities under the guidance of our Responsible Members Sayed Majaffar Hossain, Sayed Asgar Ali.
    Rabindrabharati University, Kolkata:
    JAGARAN is having around 8 beneficiaries in Rabindrabharati University. Soumen Manna, the Leading Member of Rabindrabharati University Team of JAGARAN, is truly an example by himself. Soumen will complete his M.A. in Sanskrit in 2009. But he has been doing tuitions and earning his livings himself since he has passed Class-XII exam. He gets Scholarship and arranges it for others; being a Contributory Member of JAGARAN, he has referred his classmates and juniors as beneficiaries of JAGARAN. JAGARAN is proud to have such an exemplary & active Member.
    Behala, Kolkata:
    Ten students from different classes (VIII to XII) have been selected with the help of some Teachers and the support has started form Jul'08. The Teachers have become Members of JAGARAN and Team_Behala is now having a strong base of around 10 Members (Responsible Members-> Soumyajit Ghosh, Suman Guin, Asit Chattopadhyay, Arjjodev Mukherjee, Pranjal Banerjee).
    Bhatpara  (North 24 Parganas, West Bengal)
    A team of JAGARAN comprising of Arjun, Abhishek, Satadru, Sisir, Priyom and Soumyajit visited two schools, one in Bhatpara and one in Naihati (around 40 KM from Kolkata), on 20th September’08. The team met with the Headmistress and other Teachers of Bhatpara Taraknath Valika Vidyalaya and Naihati Katyayni Valika Vidyalaya. The team presented the ideologies of JAGARAN to them. And many of them showed their interest to be involved with JAGARAN. Also it has been decided that the Teachers will identify around 15 students who are facing acute financial problems to continue their studies.
    Another team of Jagaran comprising of Arjun, Abhishek and Atanu visited Bhatpara Taraknath Balika Vidyamandir on 17th Jan'09 and after consultation with the Headmistress of the school shortlested 15 students. The students were interviewd and 10 students were selected out of them. They will be provided financial support. Also, 8 teachers accepted to be part of the JAGARAN team and have joined with us as members. Thus JAGARAN is having a well structured Naihati Team (Responsible Member-> Rama Gangopadhyay)
    Rangabelia (South 24 Parganas, West Bengal):
    A team of JAGARAN has visited the area on 9th Jun'07 and after consultation with the HeadMaster of Rangabelia High School the team has selected five students who have passed Madhyamik with good marks. The aid has started from July, 2007 which is spend as hostel fee for 2 students and tuition fee for rest of the students.
    On 23rd May'09, a team of JAGARAN comprising of 7 members: Arusharka, Sujata, Moumita, Satadru, Sujata, Pranjal and Soumyajit visited Rangabelia. 1) The team met the existing five beneficiaries and discussed with them on their future plans on higher studies. 2) With the view of inducting new beneficiaries, the team interviewed more students and shortlisted 6 of them, who would be provided financial support in the next academic session. 3) The members had a meeting with Mr. Tushar Kanjilal, proctor of the school and a Padma Shree awardee in Social Work in 1986, regarding enhancing and strengthening the bond between JAGARAN and the school and local people. 4) The team members also held discussions with some of the teachers and also some non-teaching staffs with an aim to spread the thoughts and ideas of JAGARAN. After a day of hectic schedule the team returned back to Kolkata in the evening but not before thanking the school authority for their warm welcome and also for the delicious lunch they organised for the members.
    Apart from these JAGARAN is having beneficiaries in different areas like Hoogly, Nadia, Birbhum (Responsible Member-> Amritendu Mukherjee), Bankura and Maldah (Responsible Member-> Aditi Chattopadhyay) in West Bengal.
