JAGARAN, an NGO conceived by fellow professionals from different
sectors of society was incepted in April, 2006. It intends to
develop social awareness among the different individuals for
societal betterment as well as cater to the needs of the hapless
providing them assistance in any form. The main objectives of
JAGARAN are true manifestations of its name which stands for
awareness. Currently JAGARAN is having a strong base of around 250
members working for more than 190 beneficiaries. JAGARAN is
registered under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act as a Non
Profit Organisation (Reg. No.: S/IL/ 44380 OF 2007-2008). |

The Journey Began |
|
As a part of the society we always take so many things from it on
our way to the destiny. We must repay our social debt. This
consciousness aired a thought among a group of software
professionals mainly from Infosys. They started thinking of doing
something apart from their usual office work. General people have
some misguided ideas about IT professionals that they are completely
out of the society and only think of their careers and salary
packets. But despite extremely busy schedule they can work
dedicatedly to form another better society. At initial level, there
were few individual efforts which were felt to be organized very
soon. There was a need of a strong platform for their united effort
to uphold the commitment to construct a better society. JAGARAN was
born from this commitment. A journey began……… |

The Path Traveled |
|
Established on 25th April 2006 with only 29 IT professionals of
Infosys, within 1 year JAGARAN has spread among IT giants like
Wipro, TCS, CTS, IBM, PwC, Tech Mahindra etc across the country. The
present member count is more than 350 all over the world. Apart
from tech guys, JAGARAN now comprises of Students, Teachers, Doctors and
other service holders also. Already JAGARAN has stretched its
helping hand to more than 300 students who are financially deprived.
Even though at the beginning, it was primarily focused on supporting
our beneficiaries financially, now with more involvement and more
suggestions from Members (Jagaranites), JAGARAN has spreaded its
focus towards different social and environmental awareness.
Efficaciously, JAGARAN now stands for Total Improvement. |

The Vision and Mission |

JAGARAN is an open platform to work together for a better future. It
is focused on providing proper education to those students who are
from very low income families. These students are part of our future
society. They have the ability to build a stronger and better
country. A little help can change their world and make their dreams
come true. JAGARAN is promised to them to accomplish their dreams.
We are committed for a progressive change in our society by
providing opportunities to the meritorious and financially needy
students. We are always with them so that they can continue with
their dream career to touch their destination. Our mission is to
help these students with scholarships, book grants, consultancy or
counseling. We are not bounded to any class, cast or religion. To
accomplish our mission we are cordially inviting everybody from each
level of the society. Be with us….our combined effort will make our
country more beautiful, our society more charming. |
